Accessibility Statement 2011

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our three bed-roomed home. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

 Pre-Arrival

• The train station of Castle Cary is on the main London to Penzance line and is just 5 minutes away by car.

• There are local taxi services.

 Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is ample off road parking for cars and some larger vehicles.

• The surface is flat and gravel, however there is tarmac immediately out side the house and a level slab stone path leading to the front door.

• We can assist guests with luggage.

 Main Entrance & Reception

• The front door has one step into the house.

• The front door is always locked but we do have a push button bell and a knocker on the door. 

Public Areas - General (Internal)

• The ground floor, stairs and first floor are carpeted.

• There are 14 stairs with a 90 degree bend at the bottom leading to a landing, with a hand rail on both sides, accessing three bedrooms. 

Public Areas - WC

• All bedrooms have their own WC with vinyl floors.

• There is a WC available on the ground floor if required.

Dining Room & Lounge

• Breakfast is served in the dinning room on the ground floor.

• There is a large lounge for guest use also on the ground floor.

Bedrooms

• All three bedrooms are on the first floor and are carpeted.

Bathroom, Shower-room & WC

• Twin room and an ensuite shower, wash basin and WC

• Double room and an ensuite shower, wash basin and WC

• Double room and a private bathroom with bath/shower, wash basin and WC.

Grounds and Gardens

• There is a large garden for residents to relax in.

• Fields and an orchard surround the farm.

Additional Information

• Although pets are not allowed in the house assistance dogs are welcomed.

• Mobile phone reception is generally good.

• We have a no smoking policy.

• A small fridge is provided on the landing for guest use and we can put larger items in our main fridge upon request.
